Hang Gao founded AIWSL to connect sport, youth development, and opportunities for girls and women to lead.
BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE
From swimming to supporting young people.
Hang Gao’s background combines sport, business and youth education. AIWSL’s launch materials describe her as a National-Class Athlete in swimming in China, a mother of two, and a business co-founder. She is a graduate of Tongji University’s School of Economics and Management and holds a Master of Science in Business Analytics from Dominican University of California.
Turning experience into tools teachers can use.
As one of the co-initiators of the Larkspur Project, she helped design the training framework and teacher-support materials, recorded instructional videos, and contributed to participation tracking and review. The earlier project was jointly initiated by Unlimited Her and Huochai Box; AIWSL is a separate US organization.
Her work connects a practical question with a broader goal: how can schools make it easier for students to take part, keep going, and learn to lead?
