03 / MENTOR SUPPORT
Someone to encourage.
Someone to learn from.
Students need support. So do the adults helping them take part.

FOR YOUNG PEOPLE
A little encouragement
can help you try again.
A teacher, coach or mentor can help a student understand an activity, feel included, and reflect on an experience. AIWSL’s planned approach brings that support alongside sport and team tasks, with opportunities to talk about interests, strengths and future choices.
FOR TEACHERS & FAMILIES
Useful support,
not another pile of work.
The aim is to develop clear activity guidance, training resources, bilingual communication and simple feedback tools. Teachers should be able to see what to do, how students are participating, and when the plan needs adjusting.
Support around each session
- Prepare together.
Agree on the activity, the adults involved, and the support students need.
- Be present.
Give encouragement and guidance while students practice, collaborate and take turns leading.
- Listen and follow up.
Use student reflections and teacher and family feedback to understand what should happen next.
Technology can help with the paperwork.
The launch deck proposes AI assistance for adapting bilingual materials, organizing participation records, and reviewing feedback. Teachers and program staff remain responsible for decisions, supervision and care. These tools are planned support, not currently available services on this website.
